Force Flow / Pumped Systems
Here there is no requirements for location of the tank above the collector. A forced circulation or pumped system may be either direct or indirect type. In a direct system the potable or service water is directly circulated between the solar hot water storage tank and solar collectors. In an indirect system, a fluid such as distilled water or an organic heat transfer fluid is circulated in the solar collectors. Pumped systems have at least four basic solar components, the storage tank, the collector, the circulation pump and the control system. In simple direct pumped system, there is a bank of solar collectors connected to a single hot water storage tank. Forced / pumped systems generally use at industries, apartments etc.
